"How is raising prices to Americas by 45% good for America?"

It's not a direct equivalent as I'm sure you know.

45% Tarriff on Chinese good give American producers an opportunity to turn up a business and subject themselves to market forces in the USA.

Why should American companies, and workers, be compelled to compete with international slave labor domestically? Do we have no choice in the matter?

I loath the term slave labor.
In China the average worker makes $2 per hour.
Low by our standards but you can rent a 2 bedroom , 1.5 bathroom apart,net for $28 a month.
Comparing our wages to others wages makes zero sense unless you take into consideration their cost of living.
Personally, I don’t want to pay $700 for my next iPhone.
