Saudi nuclear weapons 'on order' from Pakistan [2013]
BBC ^ | 11/03/2013 | Mark Urban

Saudi Arabia has invested in Pakistani nuclear weapons projects, and believes it could obtain atomic bombs at will, a variety of sources have told BBC Newsnight.

While the kingdom's quest has often been set in the context of countering Iran's atomic programme, it is now possible that the Saudis might be able to deploy such devices more quickly than the Islamic republic.

Earlier this year, a senior Nato decision maker told me that he had seen intelligence reporting that nuclear weapons made in Pakistan on behalf of Saudi Arabia are now sitting ready for delivery.

Last month Amos Yadlin, a former head of Israeli military intelligence, told a conference in Sweden that if Iran got the bomb, "the Saudis will not wait one month. They already paid for the bomb, they will go to Pakistan and bring what they need to bring."

Since 2009, when King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia warned visiting US special envoy to the Middle East Dennis Ross that if Iran crossed the threshold, "we will get nuclear weapons", the kingdom has sent the Americans numerous signals of its intentions.

I have no doubt there will be an arms race in the Middle East.

[ I have no doubt there will be an arms race in the Middle East. ]

We always feared a Worldwide nuclear conflagration, but we never envisioned a regional nuclear conflict.

Granted, I wouldn’t shed a tear if Iran and Saudi decided to turn each other into molten glass as long as Israel came out of it okay.

Heck the fallout for the rest of the world probably wouldn’t be as bad as all the nuclear testing that was done in the 1950’s here in the US.

Even if there were fallout consequences there would be economic consequences. Yet another obama screwup.

The Pakistani nuclear weapons program was always a joint Saudi/Pakistani program - the Saudis paid for half of everything, and the Chinese provided the technology.

The last that I heard, Pakistan had a few dozen bombs, maybe a hundred, with small yields similar to a Hiroshima bomb (~20 Kilotons). Current US and Russian warheads are mostly around 500-1,000 Kilotons, whereas Chinese ICBMs pack around 5 Megatons.

Maybe Pakistan has improved their yields and delivery capabilities, but I am pretty sure that they are on the hook to deliver weapons to (or for) the Saudis.

Pakistan has a pretty good shot at Iran themselves, from their shared border (across which warheads might also be smuggled and pre-positioned).

George Bush's Administration shut down and dismantled the Pakistani Khan nuclear proliferation program to build the Pan Islamic nuclear weapons Arsenal to arm the 57 Muslim states with nuclear weapons to further the Jihad.

Obama has become the nuclear proliferates in chief and Obama is in the process. Of proliferating nuclear weapons and ballistic missile technology throughout the Muslim world, especially Iran

Pakistan Rules Out Sharing Nuclear Technology With Saudis

The best thing Saudi Arabia can do is to attack Iran before Iran gets the bomb. They are loading up with conventional explosive bombs to take out Iran's nuclear facilities. This war is coming faster than people expect, because time is definitely a factor.

Regional nuclear conflict in the Middle East?

Iran has promised to attack the West in any Nuclear conflict and they are in the process of deploying the intercontinental ballistic missiles to be able to attack Europe and much of the United States

Well in that scenario the consolation prize will be that the liberal areas will be hardest hit, unless Iran uses an EMP over Kansas and even then the Liberal Areas will be hardest hit.

But seriously, I hope that they have realistic plans for regime change as part of their war plans, especially if they include nuclear detonations.

We’ll see if the Pakistanis keep their promise to the people who funded their A bomb program (the Saudis) or to the feckless officials in DC.

Anyone that read any book about BCCI would know that the Saudis funded the 'Muslim Bomb' for Pakistan through that bank.

It is my opinion that the Saudis have had at least 12 nukes for decades now. Some may even be mounted on ICBM's.

"Do The Saudis have ICBMs?"

The guys that wrote this book say they 'accidently' saw them when they were sneaking around in restricted areas of the Saudi desert doing research for their book.
