West Texas hogs eat rocks and cactus and taste like crap.
River bottom hogs eat acorns and roots and taste pretty dang fine.

VERY good pork. Seriously. Go for a younger one, not a hogzilla. Oh hell, shoot both! But roasted in a pit, made into hams, stewed into tamale meat, made into sausage, pork chops, etc.
And free, all you can shoot. Fill your freezer. Trade with the local Mexicans. Texas caribou.
