The defense came up with very plausible evidence that the body had been burned in another location and the ashes moved to the Avery property.

I'm not saying I believe it but it did add a doubt.

I must have missed that. Fortunately, thanks to the miracle of on demand I can go back and watch it again, or not.

There is no way the prosecution made the case for guilty without a reasonable doubt. He was about to come into a lot of money. Why would he go nuts and rape and murder someone at that point? Why was he having two calm normal conversations during the hours he was supposed to be killing the photographer and destroying her body? How could there have been no evidence whatsoever other than that key that the woman was ever inside the trailer and garage? Someone killed that woman; the bullet fragment could have been from that. The key was planted. The Averys kept off their own property for a week? The banned county sheriffs always finding the evidence when they weren’t supposed to be anywhere near? The victim’s cell phone calls erased?

Why would he leave the car right there instead of crushing it? Why would her blood even be in the car, as he didn’t transport the body anywhere? And the bits of bone in the burn barrel show that someone did transport her remains to the burn site outside his house, and was a little sloppy.

The guy was a real loser but this didn’t make any sense.

And the poor nephew. He was treated so poorly. That public defender, the smiley blond guy, should be disbarred. That poor boy didn’t belong behind bars for one minute and now he will spend most of his life there. I hope there is a chance for a fair trial for them both again somehow.

What a tragic story. I do not feel Justice was served.
