I think you are right....I look at college sports fitting in with university curriculum sort of like having a bowl of ice cream and then eating asparagus.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe at one time had a world-class pharmacy school. But years of attrition and cutbacks have tarnished that reputation. Plus they charge an additional $11 thousand/semester per student for that program. That is over and above the regular tuition.

Meanwhile, football, basketball, etc. are subsidized several million dollars/year. That is criminal.
