Have big money donors brought Muslims here in large numbers (decades ago) to become legitimized with education and credentials to convert the west? perhaps?
Mrs. Kahn is educated as well, although she may have been educated in Pakistan because according to the NY Times article she was already teaching in a college in Pakistan (#710). Arranged marriages are common in Pakistan.
It would seem logical that once he was educated at Harvard, opportunities would open to him and the family would prosper financially and thus be able to fund their children’s education and the legitimization is complete.
