Not to worry there is planned obsolescence in Apple products. If a dead unreplaceable battery doesn’t obsolete your device, lack of OS support will.That is true, and they are perhaps one of the worst companies when it comes to this (I think it's truly planned), but this is by no means a unique-to-Apple problem.
Maybe because the have a monopoly on their own products. They can do pretty much whatever they want.
