The henna complaint is stupid, although the school should not have allowed them to be applied without permission. The tattoos in the pics do not indicate any religious preference or any kind of controversial decoration according to my wife (from Mumbai). Neighborhood kids used to come around and get these when our kids were younger. Even more stupid is the supposed connection between “Muslim and Hindu faiths” lol. About the only thing correct in the article is that henna tattoos are difficult to remove.
It is not that the henna markings will fade over time, it is more that the concepts behind the markings were not acceptable to the parents or their familial beliefs.
Would you feel so benevolent if your child came home all marked up with Satanistic quotations and denouncements of The Bible, KJV or otherwise?
[ Even more stupid is the supposed connection between âMuslim and Hindu faithsâ ]
considering the Muslims killed MILLIONS of Hindus during the muhgul invasion of India...
You think the public abuse of a child is innocent do you, you moronic piece of crap!
These things are done at fairs all the time. While I could agree that mom should give permission, the tattoos are so far from signifying any Hindu or Muslim faiths that it is laughable. Yup they fade away in about two weeks.
No it is not stupid. It matters not that there is no spiritual significance. This is wrong. Suppose your child came home dyed blue? Would that be OK with you?
Even though you think there is no religious intent, some people believe that a person's body is their holy temple not to be defiled in any way.
1 Corinthians 3:16 — Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?1 Corinthians 3:17 — If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
On a more personal level, I cannot even stand to accidentally get an ink mark on my hand. I would be very upset if a teacher put a tattoo on my child. An impressionable child may be influenced to think it is acceptable to get a "tramp stamp" tattoo as a teenager.

What you said, all of it. Kudos...
Bombay?
I totally agree with you on the differences between Islam and Hindu.. VERY opposite religions (if you can call Islam a religion, which I don’t)..
I can accept other religions, as long as they accept mine.. Hindu isn’t the problem.
“About the only thing correct in the article is that henna tattoos are difficult to remove.”
That alone is reason enough that whoever did it should be fired.
Schools have no right to apply tats - semi-permanent or otherwise - to the children.
For some reason these morons think it is their job to teach children about diversity. They should be teaching the kids reading and math.

This is true! Henna is more cultural not religious!
