Of course it was staged. That is the what those wrestlers do. It is meant to be comical and entertaining. No one thinks that he was going to actually attack Trump.
I saw two wrestlers on Jay Leno once. They were talking, one said something the other one took issue with, and all of a sudden they were trying to bludgeon each other. It was fake and hilarious.

In addition, counting to eight is just not real impressive.
They created our friends Colt, Ruger, Smith and Wesson, etc. to deal with threats like that.
