I haven’t seen any facts that she belonged to a gang...
...that a gang member was her boy friend, etc

I haven’t found information stating that she was part of a gang per se, so she was likely allowed to be a hanger-on for the purpose of being a play-thing.
My comment, however, was pretty typical of those wanting to leave. When you are part of a gang, you don’t get to leave. The only way out is to get out and disappear. If you say anything, before that point, you can get killed. That’s nothing new.
Go back and read the original news casts and preliminary investigations. It was all pointed out there.
There was another female involved too.
