I think it’s inconceivable that Art would give up playing around with his HAM radios.
He used to give out his identifier on a pretty regular basis —even my friend in Germany apparently proved able to contact him, that way some years ago.
He is much more reclusive now, and I suspect for the same reasons he cited here he will change his identifier and/or never give it out again publicly.
I think PART of his problem is not only his on-air subject matter but because he lives in an non-exclusive, working-man’s area of Pahrump, NV. in which ANY type of car hanging around does not appear out-of-place.
I guess 1/3 of the legit residents are driving beaters and dusty land-yachts.
If kooky whackos in beater vans staked out Rush’s place —or anywhere near his neighborhood— the cops would be all over them in a heartbeat.
