You’re right.

I used to have more faith in my fellow Americans, and especially my fellow FReepers. I thought that if we could just educate them on the finer details of Terri Schiavo’s situation, they would see the light. I was wrong. They don’t care about the details, or the truth. The problem isn’t a lack of knowledge. It’s a lack of morals. We’re seeing it now, even from those arguing for this man’s right to life, on the grounds that he’s more deserving than Terri Schiavo was. They argue that as long as he doesn’t have a severe cognitive impairment, he retains the right to life. They used to draw the line at whether a person was born or unborn. They keep moving the line. When the line moves behind them, and it’s their turn to face the sword, who will be left to defend them? Who will want to?

I have a nephew that is physically worse off than Terri was, yet mentally, he is alert and knows what is going on. He has cerebral palsy. He weighs about 80 pounds and is 29 years old. He is fed by a feeding tube, has about 50 seizures a day, and takes 24-7 care. His mother was frightened to death when Terri was murdered. All Terri needed was feeding and a diaper changer, something that goes on in almost every nursing home in America, yet they had to starve her to death. As we argue and fight over the proper chemicals to give to convicted murderers, they just withheld water and food for 13 days to kill her, something you would face a severe jail sentence if you worked at the local dog pound and did this to an animal.

America lost it's collective mind for a short time and I was ashamed of my conservative brothers and sisters. The problem is the lack of God in the culture. To believe you have the right to kill someone else because you think she would be better off is just evil fascism poking it's head out. It's no different than gun control saying you don't "need" a certain weapon or a certain amount of ammo just because you don't see the purpose. Deciding how much salt and sugar you think ought to be put in my food and other things all come from this same need to control others. The main purpose for ObamaCare is to cut of money and services to people they deem less worthy.

This same thinking will eventually convince us to go die when you have your 70th birthday, or kill your infant if they have Down's syndrome to save society. It's been tried before during the 1940's in Germany, but was put down for the time being.

We should all learn to listen to ourselves and notice when we start to decide other people's fate on anything and repent. You should hear what goes through my thoughts when liberals are in the news. Only Jesus saves me from spiraling into a maniacal __________ spree. You fill in the blank.
