Your friend’s recommendation is hard to beat. One of the primary appeals of Sigs are their ergonomics. Fits the hand like a glove. That said, the only other I’d suggest would be and HK, and to be comparable, the P30.
One more thought, if you start out with the 225 or any other Sig or HK, you’ll have set the bar pretty high for yourself ;)
