You see the same thing when feminists are attacked for not liking Bruce Jenner getting women’s top awards or the “top paid female CEO” going to someone who was a man for 40 years.
But federal government contract rules give points to companies that have more diversity policies, not only affirmative action based on race but hiring the sexual minorities. If you have more formal policies to support these people like letting them use facilities they self identify with and so forth, you’re more likely to get the government contract.
And socially engineering your work force is way easier and cheaper than trying to build a better jet at a lower cost, when competing for billions in federal contracts.
