For any boat motoring in the night, this floating stump could prove to be a disaster if one would hit it. I’m surprised it hasn’t been removed from the lake...........

There’s no private boating allowed on Crater Lake - day or night.

There’s a guided tour boat that runs in Crater Lake in the summer months but you have to hike about a mile down and back up to take the boat ride. Crater Lake is totally landlocked - nothing flows in or out of it. The walls of the crater are very steep all the way around.
