i'm from NYC/USSR so what do i know, but from what I remember reading, states that respect the 2nd amendment have no more gun crime than those that dont.

Comparing the effects of cultural influences and mentalities in Japan and in various U.S. states with regards to violent crime just isn't possible. "East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet," you know.

Sorry, I wasn't being very clear.

What I meant to say is that the effects of culture and national mentality overshadow any other such factors as per capita income, legislation, etc.
