Not crazy at all. I have always cooked the turkey at night. It frees up the oven for the other dishes that need to be cooked the next day. Especially if the family wants to eat early. Plus it smells so good when ya wake up!!!

i’m going to try at 220 during the day as im working feeding the homeless in the morning. my plan is to do a 1hr 450 and then 220 for about 6 hrs starting at 6:00 5 hour from now

Berdie I have also cooked my turkey this way for 20 years now!!! Turkey is ALWAYS perfect!!! Would NEVER cook it any other way!!! I can’t imagine why you would be having this problem, unless your oven is not operating correctly!!!
