I think that is ridiculous. People overeat because of taste, not hunger. Or even boredom or habit. It is not hunger.

Another theory is that many cannot determine the difference between thirst and hunger.

So they eat all the time.

Also for my clan the very worst possibility, is to die hungry!
The best way to avoid this fate, is to constantly eat!
I have some kin that are living proof of this method!

People over eat due to malnutrition. Food preservatives block enzyme action so you cannot effectively adsorb complex proteins, or minerals so all you easily get are sugars. People gobble down so much food and get fat because they are dying of malnutrition while on massive caloric overload.

People overeat because of taste, not hunger.

While there may be some truth to that, for others it's about not feeling "full."

Some people eat until they feel "full" which causes them to overeat. That's not normal, and that's a delay in the brain getting the "full" signal.

I used to be one of those people. It takes discipline to stop eating and wait for the brain to catch-up and get the "I'm full" feeling. Sometimes that's 10 minutes, sometimes it's 20 minutes later. Point is, it's a delay in getting the "full signal" to the brain and some of us have to learn how to manage it properly to have a healthy relationship with food.

The hormone that controls the full/hungry signal is called Cholecystokinin. In some people this hormone is decreased or takes longer for the body to make. Learning how to manage your "hungry" signals is key. "Speedy" eaters have it the worst and need to develop the discipline to slow down while eating.

Losing weight is all about regulating food intake, eating the right things, and getting exercise. Works every time it's tried. Been there, done that more times than I can count (and am doing it again.)
