Belgium used to be the land of glorious beers. One little place on the corner in the "Grand Place" (in my picture) had more than 600 beers on their beer list!
They also produce "Geuze" in Belgium... naturally fermented by particular agents found in the local environment. Some of them have been produced for so long, the fermenting agents only exist in the brewery. If they clean the brewery, the geuze will no longer ferment.
Muslims will fix the beer problem. :(
That is interesting. The Geuze must be similar to long handed down sourdough starter. I have only tasted “beer” a few times. Never liked it and found out 15 years ago that I am allergic to hops/barley. Thanks for that info.
