“Rifle team,” my foot! What in the world are they doing with their left hands? It looks like Obama holding a rifle.
The last comment on that page is:
“When my girlfriend and I competed in a John Garand match using M1 rifles last year, that’s basically how they taught us to hold them while we were doing the offhand standing position at 200 yards. It was fairly lightly balanced on the left hand while snugged up against the right armpit.”

It’s just a formal pose, for show. I’m sure they didn’t hold their rifles that way when they were firing.

No, Obama would be beshatting himself in such close proximity to a dreaded "gun".
That is the proper stance for the standing position in match shooting.
