To clarify, Hovind endorsed Clinton for President ... of Antarctica. This was satire :-) Regarding Genesis as the inspiration for a theme park ... only a few short summers ago I enjoyed a vacation Bible school wherein the Old Testament world became a petting zoo for the children's amusement. It was so well done; and the turnout was extraordinary. There is little difference between a zoo and a theme park. The Lord will call to His sheep in a way the sheep will hear. Should the call only go out to those who believe in an old Earth? Should the call be denied to those who believe in a young Earth? We are but children before the Lord, and the Lord warns us at our own peril not to stand between Him and His children. I agree, we most always be on guard for false prophets. But is the question of the Earth's age the measure of a false prophet? No ... "This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." If the only stone cast against Hovind is that of being a "young Earth" creationist, then I fear, the stone is cast unjustly.

I don't know Hovind from a hole in the ground. I don't know what his doctrinal commitments are, or (until you told me) that he is a young Earth creationist. As for his endorsement of Hillary for president, all I said was that I'd heard a rumor that he had given her one. But I emphasize, I said it was a rumor, the implication being that, without substantiation, I could not credit it, having no information about it. So I asked my correspondent of the time if he could confirm its veracity, if any. I didn't hear back from him; but you advise me that Pastor Hovind satirically endorsed her for President of Antarctica. (Sounds good to me!) That answers the matter, as far as I'm concerned.

I do not "have a dog" in the Young Earth/Old Earth Creation "fight." I imagine that peoples' religious beliefs answer to the leading of the Holy Spirit that they have received. And that's good enuf for me: Certainly I have no right to impose my judgments in matters regarding the spiritual relations of a person with God.

At the same time, I would like to be treated likewise. I do not want to hear that I'm going straight to Hell because I do not subscribe to the received doctrine of any particular religious confession....

Anyhoot, I am not "casting stones" against Pastor Hovind. From my perspective, he is fully entitled to believe in whatever the Holy Spirit has given him the light to see.

As do I. Only Christ shall judge me.

Thank you so much for writing, so_real! May God's blessings ever be with you and your dear ones.
