I don't claim any insider information beyond what the Bible provides ... but I'm assured God will not condemn anyone for being a young Earth creationist. It's just not a big enough deal to raise so much as an eyebrow over. Old-earthers add billions of years to creation; young-earthers add thousands of years. But to God, the measurement of time and duration has no meaning. In fact, young Earther's possessing that degree of faith in the Creator despite humanity's friends and foes alike, is arguably an endearing quality to the One who made us. I'd welcome Hovind to my camp fire just as I'd welcome any believer.

Well said. I'm an old-earth creationist who knows that we are saved simply by believing in Jesus, not by that plus believing in one or the other of His possible creation methods.

When God begins creating again on the eighth day, once all His believers are in heaven, there will be no more controversies as to how He's doing it, for we'll not only watch but also, I suspect, participate with Him. Indeed, there are no controversies in heaven at all, are there?

Like you, I welcome fellowship with all genuine believers -- regardless of their view of Genesis. And, I certainly agree re the timelessness of God.

The folks I have a problem with are the folks who label themselves "Creationists" -- and then act as if anyone with a different interpretation of Genesis is bound for hell.

And, I positively despise the fraudsters who make a profession of "Creationism" -- especially to the point of building for-profit "Creation Museums" and, worse, theme parks to rake in big bucks from honest believers.

But, what I REALLY despise is their making so much of a fuss over "Creation" that the saving message of Jesus' Gospel is ignored.

Hovind places himself in that class of "most despicable"; I doubt he'd willingly stay long at my campfire...
