I saw Rivera on Fox News last night, with his daughter sobbing on the telephone as Rivera said “are you okay honey? are you frightened honey? do you want to come home honey? It was pretty disgusting, for this reason: I can understand any father being concerned for his daughter’s safety at a time like this, however, this conversation should have taken place off the air. Instead, Rivera played it up big time in front of the cameras, exploiting a tragic situation in order to raise his own profile with the viewers.
It was pathetic and hypocritical given his lack on compassion on just the average person who opposes immigration because the don’t have to wait until something happens to see the dangers.
Send the newly arrived Syrian immigrants to live in his neighborhool....lousy lying hypocrite.
I agree completely. It should have taken place off the air.
He actually put his daughter at increased risk by raising her profile on TV.

Agree. A brief mention would have been sufficient. Once I saw the video of the phone call that immediately came to my mind. Who would video something as important as that discussion. That would be the last thing I think most of us would be concerned with.
This is a man who posts pictures of himself half naked. I don’t think he has a sense of propriety. But I’m sure he’s concerned for his daughter. He’s just really weird when it comes to that barrier of normality between what should be private and personal.
His conversation with his daughter put a very human face on this horrid situation.
If it were my daughter, I would use any asset I had to bring her home.
