Mystery Light Seen In SoCal Sky Sparks Speculation; Pentagon Confirms It Was Missile Test

Residents posted a flurry of videos on social media, together with theories of aliens or meteors. Others made panicked calls to law enforcement officials.

But not to worry, U.S. military officials said. It's a pre-planned missile test.

The Navy Strategic Systems Programs held a scheduled missile test flight at sea from USS Kentucky, which is a ballistic missile submarine. The test was conducted off the coast of Southern California, the Pentagon said in a statement.

...

The Los Angeles International Airport issued a statement this week about the military testing.

"The military airspace to the west of LAX will be active for one week, creating traffic route limitations and requiring LAX to temporarily deviate from over-ocean operations," it said.

The military test will continue until November 12.

From what I have read it was a sub-launched Trident missile test with no missile interceptors. The interceptors would have been out in the middle of the Pacific for that kind of test.

What is scary to me these days is who is in charge of our military!

It is possible the regime intended this as a 'subtle' warning/threat. I wouldn't put it past the TRAITOR to "go out with bang."

Yes, I know, this is the one from 2010

With any luck it was even one of *our* missiles.

...whatever was launched last night was possibly a strategic defensive missile...

Or a target for one; think skeet shooting, clay pigeon.

You can check out a local station, KUSI in San Diego - they have the scoop - direct from the Navy.

Thanks, Calpublican, I consider that a compliment.

Since when did nucular-tipped, ballistic, Trident missiles start flying horizontal

Depressed trajectory shot?

Did you notice the missile just hung there in the air without any horizontal or vertical velocity once it reached a certain altitude like the Russian one that I mentioned before?

Perspective as the missile tips over into the ballistic arch away from the viewer. Sure as heck is still accelerating.

Looked at the crappy video again and saw no "hovering". From the appearance of the plume, the majority of the video was when the missile was a long distance away and exo-atmospheric or close to it. Relative motion would of course be small if fired to the west as it would heading to the Kwakalein test range like most military test shots..

See what you want to, I watched dozens of Vandenburg launches over the years and know what I see.

If you have a ground track of the missile showing it passing over Seattle, post it. Please, not just “someone in Seattle says they saw it”.

Anything moving away from you has no apparent x, y movement, but you could’t possibly be so stupid as to say that they don’t.
