You have just repeated the common myth. There is a very good reason why you failed to burn the calories and stored them as fat, and is far from being just a sedentary lifestyle. See the video.

All I know is that when I was in college and in the summer I would work for the Forest Service. In college I gained roughly 20 lbs a year due to inactivity and beer. In less than three weeks of working, hiking and sweating the weight would be gone.

Same for when I worked in a meat packing plant after getting out of the Army and drinking beer every night for 2.5 months. In three weeks the extra weight was gone.

Nothing gets rid of fat like hard work and sweat.
