I would have to take realllly close look at the pilot’s story:

He SAW the missile soon enough during a commercial flight over Egypt to take a successful (and apparently unbothersome) jink...??

That’s not quite as fantastic as keeping an eye out for meteorites while playing a game of bridge.

Complication: How would you spirit one of these across a border..?

The report said ROCKET, and most rockets are not guided. So a near-miss would suggest the a/c was flying at a VERY low altitude at the time of this alleged miss.

But the complication to THAT is that 90% of journalists use errant words when reporting about weapons matters --we don't REALLY know what the journalist was told.

ANYTHING to a journo is a Glock or AK-47....
