I blocked a bunch of stuff at the Netgear Router. I cannoty put it past Microsoft to use dynamic updating of its call home list.

What did you look for to block? Destination name, or port?

Did the OS complain that it never received anything back?

Have you tried daisy chaining routers? Multiple levels of NAT. Wonder how well that works?

What subnets do you drop? Microsoft has a huge swath of IP space.
