In groups of women, there are definitely alphas. But VanDeKoik, I do agree that for a marriage to be content, out of the duo, there's no such thing as an alpha female. A husband is alpha by default; if he's not that in the lady's heart, she should rethink marrying him in the first place. But hey, that's just me.

A woman can be strong and confident and still recognize her husband as head of the house (and her heart).
And for a good marriage, both spouses should be thinking of the other before himself/herself.
