I had seen that explanation before, but some of it was so similar.
I could not determine from what point were they flashing back to?
I guess I need to watch it again...
Still time to do an “on demand” before the new episode tonight!

I don’t think that a lot of time had passed between the black and white flashbacks and the color “present”. At a minimum, enough time had passed for them to build the wall that they used to deflect the horde of walkers, so maybe 2-3 weeks? I like it better when they include something that says “3 weeks earlier...”.

I think the flashbacks were to points that were never shown on TV - so between the end of Season 5 and the start of Season 6. A way to fill in the story, or to give some symbolism to things.

One Freeper thought the scene where the big red-headed army guy (I’m terrible at names) was fingering the wedding ring of some person he was burying (the mayor’s husband???) was a foreshadowing of Glenn’s demise. (Who knows...)

The difficulty in the black/white and color scenes in the first episode is that while the black and white part was a flashback, the events in both timelines were after the events of season 5. They are both "flash forwards" from season 5, and new to you, but the events in black and white happened some time before the ones in color.

My Glen prediction: Glen survives but is bitten. He will be given a hero's exit as he will save Alexandria from the walker army and lead them off into the sunset before the fever burns him out.

It was generally only the day before. If you did not have that, it would have been horribly difficult to follow without captions.

One of the things I’ve read is that this season is supposed to be just about a single day (outside of the flashbacks.)
