I don’t think I even heard of that event. It must have been a long time back. Plenty of them here in the midlands.
It was at one of those chicken processing plants near the Upstate. The HR gal in charge of hiring was actually helping border jumpers get fake paperwork so that she could keep a steady supply of minimum wage chicken pluckers coming in door.
I called my congress critter in Oconee County about the issue several years ago and asked if he was going to lead the charge in cracking down on all the construction companies in Oconee County hiring border jumpers. He geed and hawed and shucked and jived and I knew that he had no intention to do a damn thing. I just let him talk babble for a couple of minutes and said thanks for nothing and hung up.
