I expect Carson to win the Iowa caucus. He’s their kind of guy. Openly Christian, mild mannered and mostly moderate.
But the Iowa caucus means very little. Ronald Reagan in 1980 didn’t bother to campaign in Iowa because he knew they liked squishy moderates like Daddy Bush.
At least half the time the winner fizzles out afterwards.
A good history lesson for these Trump-haters to remember, after GHWB won those Iowa caucuses (and his margin of victory wasn’t all that great), Reagan fired his moron of a campaign manager John Sears, brought in William Casey (who would later become his CIA Director) and from there to the convention, Reagan kicked that elitist RINO’s rump day in and day out.
Trump I predict, will do likewise with Dr. Squish-on-the-2nd-Amendment.
Considering Santorum won the 2012 Iowa Caucus I’m of the same opinion that Iowa means little.
“At least half the time the winner fizzles out afterwards.”
The purpose of our Iowa caucuses isn’t to pick a winner for the rest of the country; it’s just for the people who vote here in Iowa.
It is simply JUST PART of a sorting process nationwide.
People get WAY to excited about their perception that Iowa takes away everyone else’s choices. It doesn’t.
A good candidate will do well here; a bad candidate wont.
On one hand people disparage the Iowa caucuses saying “they don’t pick a winner there”. Then on the other hand they say it has too much influence!
