Isn’t Independence east of Kansas City?
Those stadiums are on the west side of KCMO as I recall.
In fact I think some of the parking lots are
actually in Kansas.
Zerosix is right with correcting me. The complex is on the KC MO border with Raytown and Independence, MO.
The American Royal livestock arena is down in the bottoms right near the KC, KS border but the Truman Sports Complex where the Chiefs and Royals have their two stadiums is on I-70 at the east edge of KC, MO.
Because it straddles two states and is bisected by a river junction the metro area is composed of over 35 municipal areas and communities. Kansas City, Missouri probably makes up a third or less of the population and something like that in area share.
