I tried to revert back to Windows 7 but my program told me that was unavailable.

I downloaded 10. A day later my desktop computer was fried. The tech guys I hired said the motherboard was the problem. They seem competent but how the hell am I supposed to know. My (unbacked-up) data was retrieved and installed on a new laptop. It came loaded with 8...they keep bugging me to update, as they did right before my last machine went down. I think I’ll stay with 8.

Yes, within 30 days of upgrading to Windows 10.

Yes, and I had to reload a few things. Worse mistake I’ve made lately. I have been looking into Linux. Should have done that a long time ago...

You can return to Win 7 within a certain time span. I think it is two weeks. I did it on one of my machines a month or so ago.

Yes. I just did it yesterday. It’s under recovery options. Google “revert to Windows 7” and it will tell you where to go. Reverting went nice and smooth for me. Took about 45 minutes.

You can undo it within a 30 day window. I missed the window and do not want to purchase Windows 7. I’ve learned my lesson - NEVER NEVER ACCEPT A “FREE UPGRADE” from Microsoft! My next purchase will be a new MacBook Pro.

If you take an image of your PC before making such an OS change...yes. Just re-image the PC using your imaging software, etc.

If no image was created....you're SOL.
