As the local votes are given their final count, I want to requote this from your post:

"All men lose when freedom fails,
and good men rot in filty jails.
And those who cried "appease, appease,"
Are hanged (or, in this case, BEHEADED) by those they sought to please."

Elections have consequences and sometimes those consequences will kill you dead.

Hopefully, we'll vote a bit closer to sanity next time and the nation will make it back out of the valley of death in this land of Fail that we've been steered into.
