You can’t get citizenship in Japan unless you are 100% Japanese.
Children of Korean comfort woman fathered by WWII Japanese soldiers can’t get citizenship even though they were born in Japan and their children can’t get citizenship.

Well, the inside joke is that they do prefer their own ethnicity as do their other Asian neighbors. I'm not faulting them, it's just the way the Asian nations are.

Yeah, it is racist. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. They say themselves that their demographics are short on new, working age blood. They just don’t want non-Japanese to fit the gap. And that’s racist. But, so am I.
