What is your favorite patriotic Rock and Roll song?
“Born In The USA” Springsteen
American Made-George Thorogood
Keep on Rockin in the Free World, by Neil Young
Well maybe not so much if you’re a George “The Elder” Bush fan.
Oddly enough I saw that very line up, Skid Row opening for GnR. Show was at the old US Air Arena just outside of DC. Skid Row was actually very good, and Axl had apparently gone all emo (again), got rather drunk, attacked some security staff (for supposedly roughing up a fan) and then went over the time limit at the venue and got fined. That’s at least how I remember it considering how long ago it was.
The best show I saw from GnR was at Merriweather Post, also outside of DC, where they opened for Aerosmith. Now that was a great show. GnR was really just starting touring Appetite and were in their prime. Good times.
Had no idea the band was getting back together, but I just took a look online and see you are right that Axl and Slash claim to be friends again.
If they come around I will definitely be seeing them again and hope they play a lot of the AFD tracks.
According to the Epistle to the Philippians our citizenship is in Heaven (if you belong to Jesus Christ). So, Stairway to Heaven could be ‘patriotic’. Free Bird might be good if it’s talking about the Holy Spirit. Spirit in the Sky is an oldie but a goody... that’s about it.
I Drive Your Truck - Lee Brice
American Heart, Jon David Kahn.
The Star Spangled Banner by Madison Rising.
Jimi Hendricks Star Spangled Banner
You’re not actually familiar with the meaning of the term “rock ‘n’ roll” are you?
Um. No. That is one of the most UNPATRIOTIC songs EVER. Sung by an effin’ Communist on top of it. Epic Fail.
“America” Ray Charles.
Mine too!
yup.
“Won’t Get Fooled Again”
Who?
Oh, gee, someone just did....
Turn in your FR card and step away from your computer.
I saw the original line up back in 90 or 91 back in canada at the PNE and the Cult opened for them. My older brother saw GNR-Metallica with Faith No More and Skid Row earlier in Boston..
Now here’s the fun part.
remember the Vancouver riots? I had tickets to that one LOL including the follow up vancouver riots part 2.
“Oh, gee, someone just did....”
Can you believe it?
