RENTON, N.J. (AP) — A nurse who had contact with Ebola patients in West Africa and was quarantined at a New Jersey hospital when she returned sued Gov. Chris Christie and state health officials on Thursday, saying they illegally held her against her will.

I always try and put myself in someone else shoes and empathize with them before weighing in on a top such as this.

When I ask myself, if I had been in contact with a deadly virus and the powers that be, whether federal or state, wanted to isolate me for a time for the sake of the safety of those around me, I can say most certainly, I would do it without hesitation.

Why would someone selflessly go into a hot zone to help the poor and sick, then come back and act to like a self absorbed, narcissistic brat?

Anyone want to guess that the reason she's suing stems from her inability to find work resulting from her selfish behavior?

I wouldn't hire someone like this.

Exactly! IF I were a hospital administrator I`d be asking: this b*tch of a 'nurse' works with infected and contagious domestic patients carrying (fill in the blank), is she then going to defy hospital quarantine rules and go rouge on us? What would be our liability then?

Princess Kaci whined about the conditions she was quarantined in, lack of cell service, and damage to her social life.
Boo hoo.
Fever isn’t present in 12.9% of Ebola cases, and gas been shown to be transmissible five months after having been “cleared”.

But quarantines and rules only apply to everyone else, apparently.

The answer is very simple.

Nurse Hickox is a democrat, an Obama supporter and works for the CDC. She is doing what she is told to do probably to embarrass Christie who is running for prez.

Typhoid Kaci thinks the rules don't apply to her because it should be obvious to everyone that she's a special snowflake.

Bless her heart.

The difference, of course, is that Typhoid Mary was a highly infectious typhoid carrier, whereas Hickox neither had nor carried the Ebola virus.

Easy opportunity for huge public win by Christy. All he has to do fight back.

But he probably won’t.

Easy enough to say a year after the fact.
That 20/20 hindsight judgement highhorse looks mighty fine from up there, right?

Except it’s not 20/20 hindsight when I (like many others) was saying the same things last year.

Yes it is.
And with how princess behaved, she didn’t do herself any favors.
She behaved as a spoilt selfish brat.
And quarantine was exactly the correct action.
They used to quarantine legal immigrants due to disease exposure.

She should be the one paying for so flagrantly disobeying the quarantine.

I agree.

I’ve really grown to despise these kinds of people like this Ebola-b!tch nurse. Even if she genuinely felt a bit mistreated or inconvenienced, this was a wildly dangerous and contageous disease, which was still something of a mystery in its transmittion. Thousands upon thousands of lives could have been conceivably at risk had she turned out to be a carrier. Common sense dictated to err on the side of caution. Extreme caution. More important than her “feelings.”

So, at worst, she’s inconvenienced and treated shabbily in her mind. Sometimes you just have to suck it up. Put others before your own creature comforts. Life ain’t always fair. That’s how adults used to think and behave. But, no, we now have these liberal “it’s all about me” grievance-class idiots, who wallow in self-righteous victimology. They just want to create a stink, and bask in the spotlight they elicited. Loathesome, contemptable people. Society as a whole used to not tolerate such fools, up until recent decades. We now have a pathetic culture that virtually celebrates them.

Yes it is.

How is it hindsight when I was saying it at the time? That's nonsense.

And with how princess behaved, she didn’t do herself any favors. She behaved as a spoilt selfish brat. And quarantine was exactly the correct action.

She certainly did herself no favors with her behavior once she got to Maine. The bike ride was just sheer stupidity on her part. But, as I explained repeatedly in the other thread, that happened AFTER the quarantine. She was quarantined immediately upon arriving in New Jersey, well before any of her Maine nonsense.

Because, and listen very carefully, at the time NOBODY INCLUDING HER KNEW IF SHE WAS INFECTED OR NOT.

But, and you should listen very carefully yourself, EVERYBODY KNEW THAT SHE WAS NOT CONTAGIOUS BECAUSE SHE WAS NOT EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS.

Which is why (listen carefully again) EVERY INFECTIOUS DISEASE EXPERT IN THE WORLD SAID THERE IS NO NEED TO QUARANTINE EVERYONE WHO TREATED EBOLA PATIENTS.

” EVERYBODY KNEW THAT SHE WAS NOT CONTAGIOUS BECAUSE SHE WAS NOT EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS.”

And that is patently untrue.
Incubation period of 2 to 21 days, however in some cases it has been 40 days.
And fever is not always present.
That means contagious without fever present.
