Starting at $1,499, the Surface Book isn’t cheap....

That's an understatement!! Were it not for the price tag, I'd be very interested in buying one.

As is, I'll pass and wait for the price to drop somewhere in the next six months. For $1,499 I can build at least two i7 desktops for home, which is where I do most of my compute tasks.

Out & about, my smartphone handles all those needs just fine.

Yeah I agree. As good as it looks and how much I would love to purchase one, my current laptop and desktop work just fine, so I really cannot justify the expense. However, for those in the market, I would recommend a look.

Yep its the same problem as Apple a nice product but that way overpriced..

it like a car..is it a business tool or a status symbol? ... if you really use computer or a car as a tool you have to look at cost of turning it over ever few years and balance out cost vs need for a given feature..is it a needed feature or is it a luxury feature
