Murphy was owned in 79% of ESPN Fantasy Leagues this year.
Next year will be a different story.
Never forget the Cubs fans outnumbering Marlins fans at Joe Robbie in 2003 during the regular season and acting like arrogant schmucks.
Karma is a bitch.
WIKI-
Security escorted Bartman and two people who accompanied him to the game toward the exit tunnel from the field. News footage of the game showed him surrounded by security as passersby pelted him with drinks and other debris.
Bartman’s name, as well as personal information about him, appeared on Major League Baseball’s online message boards minutes after the game ended.[11]
As many as six police cars gathered outside his home to protect Bartman and his family following the incident.[12] Afterwards, then-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich suggested that Bartman join a witness protection program, while then-Florida Governor Jeb Bush offered Bartman asylum.[1]
The question is, will Murphy even be on the Mets next year?
Next year will be a different story.
Murphy was 83-percent owned in CBS leagues at the end of the year, which was about right considering his steady, but unspectacular production.
He's absolutely raking right now, a sizzling-hot streak of not just career, but historic proportions. However, it's unsustainable over the long haul; he's only hit 62 home runs in 3,354 career at-bats. He seems like a great guy and is certainly a quality major-league player, but I hope somebody in my fantasy league drafts him in the first round next year, because he won't return first-round production.
