He doesn’t wear his religion on his sleeve but when asked about homosexuality he rather bravely went on the record saying he did not agree with it all. In this era of intense pressure in sports to tow the PC line, that got my respect.

I was hoping for a Cubs vs. Royals series. Fat lady hasn’t sung yet.
As far as I recall only one team has ever come back from 0-3 in a pennant series to win. If the Cubs pull this one off, all World Series posts are going to the Religion Forum.
Well its not over till somebody wins four games. But its rare in any sport for a team to come back from.being down three games to none in a four out of seven playoff series.
Me too. I actually LIKE the Cubs, and root for them against anyone else.

The Cubs could actually be eliminated on the day they were supposed to win the Series (Back to the future).
Even by 1985 standards, Oct 21 was a bit early...series that year ended Oct 27.
Yup, and it’s not just homosexuality. You’re right that he doesn’t wear it on his sleeve, but when asked, he is very open about his faith.
You really need to lighten up in your hatred of the Mets. Mets fans and Cubs fans have a lot in common having suffered through too many losing season and blown oppurtunities over the years. I bet if you ask 1000 Mets fans who they would root for if the Mets are not in the playoffs, and 990 of them would say, "the Cubs."

I’m originally from New York. My dislike of the Mets is of long standing.
I will admit that I learned how to get hit by the pitch deliberately and make it look accidental from Ron Hunt.
