there will doubtless be some CULT leader who will lead his faithless flock of dernaged kool aid drinkers to the top of some hill...dressed in white...and wearing Black Nikes.....to await the “arrival” of the “space Brothers” who he believes.are riding the asteroid...

Now if an asteroid were to park itself in the Lagrange Point between Earth and the Moon, that would be kind of interesting.Well I had to look that one up and yes that would be interesting.
Added that to my notebook right next to Roche Limit.

Nope.
At a distance of 1 ld it's not going to be visible with the naked eye.

Trying to remember if it is him of Niven that is fairly conservative.

I would love to get 302,000 miles out of a car. No stoplights, no stop signs, no traffic?
No problem.

You change your oil ever 300 miles? It would be about 30 oil changes for me. Shoot, I ought to start using your used oil. I’d save a bundle.

Nah....
The MSM and LIBs are setting us up for an update of “War of the Worlds” starring HRC and JFK (the Vietnam JFK).
Lurch can read it and ‘Her Shrillness’ can do enough screaming for all of us.
” What difference at this point does it make?”
I am standing by for some mighty rams but IMNSHO she shouldn’t have said it BUT I will give her the benefit of it being taken out of context - ‘we’ pulled a Lib move and took ‘15 words out of 200’(sic) and ran with it.
AND I am definitely NOT an HRC ‘fan’.

On High above the mists he came,
A distant flame before the Sun,
A wonder,
Ere the waking dawn
Where grey the Nor'land waters run. It's Eärendil, with the last of the Silmarils on his brow.

On April 13, 2029 Apophis will make its closest approach to the Earth, at <0.1 ld - that's 38,300 km. It's 325 meters in diameter, which is large enough to do serious damage, and < 1 ld is close.

Too close for comfort...when I was a kid I had a dream that something collided with the moon and sent it out of orbit towards earth. Scared the hell out of me when the moon filled the whole sky.

If it doesn’t twinkle, it’s a planet. Saw two the other morning. Venus is the brightest. Mars is actually red. I also got to see a shooting star Sunday am and I am in the philly suburbs so it was a bright one.
