mawkish; adj.
1. characterized by sickly sentimentality; weakly emotional; maudlin.
2. having a mildly sickening flavor; slightly nauseating.
Etymology: 1660-70; obsolete mawk maggot ( late Middle English < Old Norse mathkr maggot) + -ish1. See maggot
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

I am indeed in a mawkish mood. I have already been on the phone with kindle support. My new kindle arrives tomorrow to replace my dead one. They think it’s a software issue. I am in the middle of a book for crying out loud.
BTW, I have a book recommendation. It’s called The Harbinger. Its about four lines from Isaiah and 9/11. I found it to be an interesting read.

Warm (for a New englander) here in Orlando. It snowed back home yesterday. I’ll miss the whole cold snap by the time I get back.
My creativity is shot, I can’t come up with anything for today’s word.
I am recharging my old one right now. It still works, just far from perfect. I see there is a follow up book, have you read that?

what you doing in Orlando? xsteen is headed there right now, on a biz trip. Leaving my poor grandbaby to his dad’s care. Wasn’t much she could do about it, and I am sure my SIL will do fine, but it is somewhat of a trial by fire, since she is breastfeeding still.
