For those Windows 7 and 8.1 users who have Automatic Update turned on, the check mark indicates that Windows should blithely start the Windows 10 upgrade.

Looks like Automatic Update will be turned off today.

I have automatic updates turned off for my Win7 desktop. Had it check for updates yesterday and didn’t see any way to get the updates without installing Win10. So I didn’t update.

So, you still wondering why I fell back to XP? My applications all run correctly, my mouse buttons can keep single and double clicks straight, and it is really fast. I placed a tiny single board computer running a Linux firewall between me and the Internet. Next I turned every service related to automatic updates off.

I can withstand this siege, I think.
