Ignored is the possibility that the magazine sales plummeted because of the hard left turn it mad decades back.. I certainly got disgusted with the leftist slant to everything, great pictorial content was not enough.

Going from reviewing jazz/rock albums to reviews of video games to appeal to gen-X/Y/Z was just guaranteed to chase away traditional readers.

Probably around 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was murdered. I still remember the article illustrated with the rattlesnake coiled around the Statue Of Liberty in which the magazine tried to lump all conservative groups with the KKK and “paramilitary” groups.
