Nope, never worked that way. For 1,600 years, all Christians who were baptized were Catholic...you can't just come along and say well not Baptism makes me a Lutheran, or a Methodist, or a church of what's happening now.....it still makes you a Catholic. Now....you may not be a good Catholic, may even, for whatever reason you make up, practice a different "denomination"....but the rules don't change just because you don't like them. There is only one, true Christian religion, it alone dates back to the time of Christ....no other does, and it is Catholicism.

I pity your ignorance and hope you eventually learn the Truth. The True Church is made up of all believers, not the ones that belong to your particular club. Christ doesn’t care which denomination you belong to, only that you are saved by His blood and have a personal relationship with Him.
I am part of the True Church and not a part of the RC church. They are two different things no matter how much you would like to believe they are not. The rules don’t change because you don’t like them.

However, a relative few humble souls of simple faith can hold to saving faith while being Catholic, and which has historically been the case, by the grace of God.
But which is not a 2,015 year old religion, neither chronologically or Scripturally, being substantially not seen in Scripture and much contrary to it.
Likewise Mormonism with its added books of fiction.
