LOS ANGELES USC coach Steve Sarkisian has been asked to take an indefinite leave of absence, Athletic Director Pat Haden announced Sunday afternoon.
Sarkisian did not attend the Trojans practice that began at 12:30 p.m. Upon learning of Sarkisians absence, Haden called him.
It was very clear to me that he is not healthy, Haden said.

That mouth breathing, gap toothed, banjo playing Basketball Coach he hired takes the cake.
He is what is called a players coach.
The players all loved him.
When Haden wanted a real credible guy after their last pathetic butthead got the axe, the players all demanded this drunk.
"Coach O" was very popular with the fans, especially after his team upset Stanford in 2013. Upon learning that his replacement would be a coach with a mediocre record at UW, the disappointment was widespread.
Sark had a substance abuse problem at Washington.
Wonderfully said! I agree completely--we haven't been winning the line of scrimmage for several years now. Of course, Sarkisian lost his OL coach Drevno unexpectedly when Harbaugh lured him to UM, but still.
Today, Sark was fired, period.
I’m thinking its more than “just” alcohol....according to what I have been reading, he’s been drinking regularly for years.....so what is different now?...
