For some reason it’s easy for British actors/actresses to do a believable Southern accent.
Got a sales call one day from a very British lady. After talking to her for a minute she asked me “From what part of England are you?”
I was kinda confused. Just said “pardon me?”
“I would guess Northern England. Wales?”
Me: “No ma’m. Born and bred Central Alabama redneck.”
Her: “Oh dear!!”. I’m not sure exactly what she meant by that......
LOL...I hope that will happen next week when the herd reaches Alexandria. You think?

I was thinking for someone like the jerk who tried to kill Glenn. But your point is well taken. LOL They’re going to need all their resources and skills for when the herd invites themselves to dinner.
I get a lot of British programming from UK torrent sites. "Y Gwyll...aka Hinterland" is a Welsh crime/detective series. I noticed it's on Netflix. They have the first season. The second season is showing on UK tv now. Not sure if Netflix has the English language version or the Welsh language with English subtitles that I've seen.
The detective series "Lewis" has just started it's 9th season on British tv. I think it's been on PBS here in the past. "Vera" is an excellent detective program too. Based on the books of Ann Cleeves. Netflix has the first five seasons. Scott & Bailey is another good detective series. Netflix has the first 3 seasons. Also DCI Banks is available on Netflix.
The series Home Fires started on PBS recently. This series is about the women of a small English town during the early days of WWII. Bottom line, nobody does history or mystery like the Brits.
They do have a knack for that.
Not sure if you ever watched the tv series "Fringe," but Anna Torv, one of the main stars is Australian. I never would have known had I not done a search for her on IMDb.
The Brits have a knack for good Southern accents because Southern accents evolved from British accents.
anyone know if I can watch the whole episode for free somewhere? I can watch on amc.com but it keeps freezing on me so it may be an issue on my end but I figured I’d try another source.
I liked Low Winter Sun.
Shame it got cancelled.
Sorry I don’t know of any.
You could try googling get rid of cable, free republic and see what others have come up with.
Hulu comes to mind, but I really don’t know.
I liked it too, and was disappointed it got cancelled. Two excellent actors.
I think Fargo on FX started yesterday.
That was another good one.
Billy Bob Thornton was good in that until his character got killed off.
Thank-you for the suggestions. Be well!
The writers dropped the ball on what could've been epic; Carol going medieval and unleashing hellfire on wife-beater Pete, pummeling him to within an inch of his life while the rest of Alexandria looked on with horror.
That episode would've been classic.
I enjoyed Fargo last season. Haven’t watched last night’s episode yet. I record everything on my DVR so I can fast-forward through the commercials.
Me too.
I’m also looking forward to Better Call Saul.
Love that one.
This is because the classic Southern accent is the descendant of the Scots-Irish accent of the original Scots-Irish settlers of the South. This makes it pretty easy for a British speaker to emulate the Southern accent but it's a little harder for them to consistently pull off the more homogenized 'American' accent that you hear from most newscasters. One of the ladies in our house is an actual Lady and her family is from near London and this is what she told me.
When Michonne first meets Moran in the episode Clear, she helps himself to his food while he is unconscious. There is also boobie trap under his huge welcome mat.
Rick asked, “We’re just going to eat his food now?”
Michonne: “The mat said “Welcome.””
I think that eating his protein bar without permission makes it her habit with him, because she said the same thing. She usually isn’t funny, but this was.
Watching this is a pretty good lesson on what is actually important in TEOTWAWKI. Fer instance.
Say that the survivors made their way to Ft Knox. Great place to hole up. So Glenn say’s to Rick: “Damn Rick! We’ve finally made it. We’re rich!
Yea right. Quit playing with that crap and go find us some food.
“The writers dropped the ball on what could’ve been epic; Carol going medieval and unleashing hellfire on wife-beater Pete...”
That WILL be a fun episode - all in good time...
“...a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build...” Ecclesiastes 3-3
However, I wonder if the first time she acts it will be more on the “down-low”, like when she killed the sick people in prison and burnt their bodies to prevent infection?
But this Rick disappeared once they got to Alexandria. If you watch his video interview with Deanna, everything he says about bad people outside the walls now applies to him. "They measure you by what they can take from you." He is measuring the Alexandrians, and said he will take Alexandria. He may not be the governor, but so far he is the villan of season 6.
