It’s awful but happens in times of disasters and such.
But WTH with Ophelia getting shot by Andy? I didn’t expect that! Travis stepped up for sure this ep.
It comes back in April, I think. The actor who plays Simcoe recently tweeted that they are en route to Virginia to begin filming...only a couple of hours east of where I live.

But this show has absolutely gone with the “token black guy dies” trope, from the black boyfriend to the black drug dealer.

Agreed. It is the assumption they are all ready and eager to be vicious thugs as soon as the tight grip of order is lost.
If this were on the SyFy channel, they would get out in the ocean and run into zombie sharks and whales.
I don’t agree here. Why are black characters not allowed to die? Lot’s of white males, females, various other characters - even those who are beloved by the audience, die in series. In TWD, quite a few important supporting characters have died who have been other than black.
I look at it as one of main family’s important other, dies and how it will affect her. Not that he’s black per se but that he was her high school boyfriend and she found him as he was dying and told her to go...
Black drug dealer tried to kill main character so of course he had to die too in order for that part of the story to progress.
This show, as well as TWD, is really diverse per PC and the newest term POC. I certainly don’t have many, or any, neighbors that are outside of my racial and ethnic background.
Half of the main characters so far are not white...Madison, Nick, and Alicia are really the only “white” main characters. Daniel and Ophelia aren’t considered White. Travis and Chris aren’t considered White. Strand isn’t white.
The law we saw of the three of them, he took the gun from Madison to do it.
So true. Also, the main characters on this show are just beginning to realize the world has changed and they don’t know what we as the audience already knows. Not all of the characters can be badass right now. It’s the story of a family and those they hooked up with in the beginning of the ZA.
I like how it’s unfolding other than the portrayal of the military thugs.
