But I doubt it.

I think the reason is much more likely that we live in a dystopian, insufficiently Free and Prosperous America (and we do) with Freedoms, combined with Conditions, which lend themselves readily to such atrocities.

That's not an argument for eliminating the Freedoms, it's an argument for eliminating the Conditions all Americans are living under. The stressors are everywhere. Different people respond to different ones.

In the ideal America which combines Morality with Freedom with Opportunity, resulting in real Prosperity, there would be a lot less, angry, oppressed, immoral, persecuted, subjugated, impoverished, discontented, hopeless, unhappy citizens.

And that's when we'll see less of these incidents.

Either that, or when the CIA stops with this microwave bullshit...

Microwaves are older tech, and were presented in my article for the sole purpose of 'pressing the edges of normalcy bias'. Most people, hearing that microwaves can negatively alter human cognition and cause irritability and anger, think 'tin foil'. Then I produce peer-reviewed scientific reports on same.

At that point, a reader can realize that normalcy bias might keep them from considering new ideas -- ideas that might previously have been thought 'conspiracy paranoia'.

Also, the reader notices how old this research is. He or she is then free to consider how far we may have come since the 1970's, in behavioral-modification science.
