You are right!! I have NO interest in the thing, but did notice check the shank (botton) of the ring and the alarm went off. Actually, if it wasn’t for the pictures, I’d have just ignored the whole thing as of no use to ME.
I see what people do to the rings on their fingers, bent, gouged, dented, covered by paint just for openers. That’s why I’m concerned about a Hi-Tech ring.

Presumably people who can afford to wear hi-tech jewelry don't worry about damage, and will just buy replacements. One of my daughters makes and sells jewelry, including rings. She goes to great lengths to make them pretty, and hopes that people will treasure them and not subject rings to abuse. I dislike wearing any because of hard work with my hands, using machinery, solvents, paints etc. Just asking for damage to wear any hardware.
